Tour plan

  1. Hotel pick-up.

  2. Departure from Bangkok for Samut Songkhram.

  3. Arrival at the Wax Pupung park. Remarkably lifelike wax figures, and then the monks' quarters and traditional Thai houses from every region of the country.

  4. A visit to the Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary, built in 1890 by Father Paul Salmon, a French missionary. It took six years to finish.

It is considered one of the oldest and most beautiful Christian churches in Thailand.

  5. The famous railway market — the fresh produce market at Hup Rom. Local products and food to try, right on the tracks.

  6. Lunch at the Chao Le Food Park.

  7. The Prak Pho shrine at Wat Bang Kung, also known as the Bang Kung Buddha. The temple is remarkable for the ordination hall completely enveloped by the roots of great trees. Inside there is an old shrine and a large Buddha image.

  8. On to the floating market at Amphawa, just as the sun starts to go down. The Amphawa canal fills with traders rowing their boats and selling food and drink — fried oysters, noodles, coffee, oliang and every kind of dessert — with carts on the bank too. There are souvenirs to buy and dinner to eat (this meal is in your own time) around the floating market. A comfortable place to sit, with local music.

  9. The group meets at the pier. A boat trip to see the fireflies in the lamphu trees, and the flickering lights they make.

  10. The boat brings you back to the pier, and it is time to head back to Bangkok.

  11. A safe arrival in Bangkok, with a day to remember.
